We have recently had a number of our members calling and requesting information relating to availability of season ticket and their renewals - especially with respect to the Coronavirus concerns.

As all of our members will understand the close down of fisheries at this time is totally understandable to maintain social distancing, protect our NHS and prevent illness and death from this virus, and is totally supported by this club. As hard as this is for our members this situation is exceptional and completely out of our control.

This has possibly been the worst season in most anglers memory in having to close down fisheries due firstly to weather ( Flooding) and then to the pandemic which is Coronavirus. The last closure of some fisheries in a similar scale being for foot and mouth disease for 6 months in 2001 and also the same issue but for much longer in 1967.

We at the Pride of Derby hope that this closure will not be for too long and perhaps early in the new season which officially starts on the 16th June the restrictions may be relaxed a little – but all will be as instructed from our Government.

In the meantime the club has to continue with its maintenance and bailiffing to ensure that when the fisheries can open again they will be pristine and ready for our eager anglers to get back to doing what they like best – being in the countryside on the canal bank – River Bank or Lake side waiting for that elusive bite.

Our season tickets sales are continuing as normal and as noted in the existing season tickets, they are available for purchase now so that when the waters become open for use again our members can take immediately to the water side.

The renewal dates are as noted in the season tickets and on this web site – the renewal dates will continue to be adhered to and we hope our members will understand the situation that we are now all in, in the sure knowledge that in due course we will all be back fishing. !!

Thank you for this Alan. It has been a difficult year with all of the closures, but all out of our control and done for the right reasons.
It's good to hear that work will still be going on behind closed doors to keep the complex in great condition.
Whilst there are no persons on the lake will there be a back filling of gravel on all the pegs on pride lake? There seems to be a dip on most of the pegs which fill up with water, and it seems an ideal opportunity now to get these filled in.

Billy
Stuart says that he has made a good start on the pegs on Pride Lake - but has now run out of stone ? Stuart is to call the quarry on Tuesday and see if another load can be delivered - be assured though that all will be good at the NEW start of fishing on the lakes.

Great news - Stuart has obtained further loads of stone and the pegs on the Pride lake and all other lakes are now finished

Stuart's a legend isnt he? The place is looking awesome thanks to his hard work.
Now the pegs have been back filled hopefully there'll be no more soggy feet in the puddles that were there before.
Thanks Stu :cheer:
