Unfortunately due to the very high costs of annual rental for the River Dove sections and the very low usage by Pride Members it was concluded following trials of renegotiations with the owner  (which failed ) that the situation of continuing with this fishing  was not in the best interests of the club.

We are very sorry for this situation that will detrimentally affect some of our members and would suggest that if they wish to continue with fishing on the Dove that they contact the Dove Anglers club who I believe are in negotiation for this section.

The situation we would have had if we continued would have been that we would have been better off financially to have purchased tickets for other clubs who have Dove fishing and given them to the affected anglers and we would still have profited by several thousand pounds per year. This situation was untenable and we much regret having to make this decision but we have to think of the long term aspects of this club and the members who use our more popular fishing rights which we will continue to improve as finance become available.
